The warthog is a wild member of the pig family found in grasslands, savannas, and woodlands in Africa. Warthogs are delectable and irresistible to lions. They love to snack on them...think BLT without the LT. We watched 9 lionesses and multiple cubs chase a warthog into his burrow. The adults then took turns digging to try and get to the poor critter. This went on for about 45 minutes. We left and came back about 5 hours later and there were still 3 lionesses lying/sitting/lounging on top of the burrow, just waiting. We were all hopeful that when nighttime fell, he was able to escape.

I have lived most of my life by the beach; so sun, sand and surf are part of every day and show up in lots of my paintings. My love of animals and flowers also plays into my desire to paint beautiful things. I love color and express myself in oil, acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil and mosaic.
